Bong Mines again: Women protesters shut down court

Report from Bong Mines in Bong County speaks of security breakdown in that mining town with demonstrators forcing the magisterial court and school to close.

The demonstration relates to the mysterious disappearance of seventeen year old Alice Pumudu .

The Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church in the town told Star Radio the women went on the rampage Friday in continued protest to the disappearance.

Pastor Elijah Harlee said the angry women also carried out series of disturbances at the police station in Bong Mines.

He said the women in their hundreds shouted: “No Alice, No police”.

Pastor Harlee quoted the women as saying their actions are aimed at drawing government’s attention to the disappearance of Alice Pumudu.

The Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church said Friday’s protest brings to two the number of protests in Bong Mines since the disappearance Alice Pumudu.
